Jhon's Rules to Live By!
November 1, 2017

What's life without a bunch of rules to live by. Are you a rule follower? Or, like me, a rule breaker? Are rules really just suggestions? And finally were rules invented to be kept or were then designed to be broken? Well, be all this as it may be, here are a few rules that sort of guide my life.....har, har, har!!!

Always remember that some days you will be the pigeon and some days, the statue. Or some days you're the windshield and other days you're the bug.

Don't forget that a pat on the back is not very far from a good old kick in the caboose.

After being on this ol' earth this long, I've realized that if it weren't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done.

Life just isn't fair. Deal with it.

* When I come to a difficult, really difficult situation in my life, I sit and ask myself, "What would the Lone Ranger do?" It helps, sorta.

Not always, (bein' honest here), but sometimes I just like to over tip the waitress. I feel better.

In the next month, send an encouraging note to someone. They will love it. Even an email or a text will do.

Don't ask a question that you don't want to hear the answer to.

When you screw up, take responsibility. It's not everyone else's fault.

Men are like waffles and women are like spaghetti. It's that simple!! You figure it out!!!

In life one only needs to basic tools.....WD40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use WD40 and if it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape!!

I've found out that everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

You are a very unique person....just like everyone else.

Never, ever interrupt someone when they are giving you a compliment or flattering you in some way. Receive it all.

Using the phrase, "Please don't take this the wrong way," will never turn out good for you.

Neither will the phrase, "I'm sharing this with you in love."

Smile. After all you don't own all the problems in the world and besides, people will wonder what you've been up to.

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian anymore than standing in a garage makes you a car.

If you have to pick between two evils, try the one you haven't done before.

I try to eat a balanced diet. A chocolate chip cookie in each hand.

So there ya go. My rules for life. Not necessarily a successful life, just a life. Be blest and let me know what some of your rules are at jsheda@indytel.com or call me at 319-327-4640.
