Monday's second contest for South Tama moved the Trojans to 0-2 on their season. The Trojans hosted Grinnell for a non-conference girl/boy varsity double header on Monday, Nov. 27 falling with a final score of 76-40.

The writing was on the wall very early on in the evening. South Tama simply could not handle the full court pressure applied by the Tigers. On top of that the Trojans aren't very deep this season and they are also running with a younger roster.

Starting for the Trojans were Sadie Smith, Jaelin Berger, Madison Rohach and Taylor Ray who are all upper classmen. The fifth starter for the Trojans was freshman, Tylese Rosenberger. Girls basketball fans may have noticed the absence of two-year starter Jessica Musgrave. She is nursing an injury but did see some minutes on the court throughout the night.

The silver lining for the Trojans is that Jessica Musgrave is cleared to play. It will also be interesting to see the chemistry play out amongst the Musgrave sisters. Carissa is in her freshman year while Jessica is a junior. Carissa, who came off the bench, led the Trojans in scoring with 12 points.

Grinnell was a tall order for the Trojans in their home opener. The Tigers are ranked 4th in Class 4A. They have some very solid athletes with seniors Sienna Durr and Kameron Moore leading the way. It also did not hurt that the Grinnell starters remained in the game until midway through the fourth quarter.

Durr was the leading scorer on the night for Grinnell with 20 points. Kameron Moore and Macy Harris also hit double digits with 12 and 11 points.
