Summer will be here before we know it and that means FUN summer programming at the Toledo Public Library. The library will host programs and summer reading incentive programs in June and July for children and adults . We begin by celebrating Children's Book Week April 30th. May 4th with these events taking place:

Bring your kids to the library to take advantage of all these fun events. If they do not have a library card, this is a great opportunity to sign your family up for cards. Having a library card provides access to a world of educational learning and fun for your family at no cost. You need a library card to check items out, but you do not need a card to visit.

The library will host an Alpaca Fiber Art program provided by Vicky Goble from Dysart on Monday, May 7th at 6:30 p.m.. You may of visited Vicky's shop in Dysart called Fiber Heart. Vicky is a fleece to finish operation and grew her business out of a love for the animal. She will bring samples of her fleece. This program is free and open to everyone.

A reminder in May, the library will host Express Yourself art workshops for people ages 55 and up. We are able to provide these workshops through a grant from the State Library of Iowa and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Event, date and times are as follows: Thursday, May 3rd-Painting from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, May 10th-Mixed Media from 4-6 p.m., Monday, May 14th-Card Making, from 10 a.m. to noon and Jewelry Making on Monday, May 21st from 10-noon. These art events are free and registration is required. Please stop in or call 641-484-3362 to register today.
